The 18th of February was designated as Chahid's national day, and it is observed annually in honor of the valiant resistance fighters and martyrs who made such great sacrifices to bring about Algeria's liberation.

The National Martyrs' Day ceremony was held in the May 19 room at Imama Pole on Sunday, February 19, 2023, which is equivalent to February 18 every year. In the presence of  the University of Tlemcen's Rector, Pr. MEGHACHOU Mourad, and his vice-rectors, as well as the deans of the faculties and the director of the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technologies, Mr. MAROC Abbas, Director of the Museum Regional Moudjahid in Tlemcen, President of the Club of Leaders of Excellence, Mr. Salim Aouali, teachers, students and social partners.

The President of the Leaders of Excellence Club, Mr. Salim Awali, presented an opening speech, followed by interventions from the teachers of the Department of History, and a projection of photos showing the horror of the colonizer .
